MEMORIA CONTRA EL OLVIDO.
A menos de 500 metros de la impresionante catedral de Colonia, se encuentra un edificio hecho hoy museo de la memoria para que nunca más se pueda repetir tanta crueldad perpetrada por el ser humano para aniquilar a los que no eran como ellos sin nigún ápice de humanidad.
Durante la segunda guerra mundial el edificio en cuestión fue el cuartel de la Gestapo en elcentro de Colonia y se hacía llamar Eldehaus. El sótano del edificio se convirtió en una cárcel y sala de torturas para todos los detenidos hombres y mujeres que eran trasladados allí y que muchos de ellos sabían que solo saldrían del lugar cuando fueran ejecutados como queda reflejado en las pintadas de las paredes que todavía se conservan y que los prisioneros las utilizaban para que nadie olvidara su historia y por lo que tuvieron pasar.
En ese cuartel se asesinaron y torturaron a miles de personas la mayoría de los que fueron llevados a sus sótanos eran comunistas o gitanos, solo entre el año 1944 y 1945 fueron asesinadas más de 400 personas en el patio interior del edificio y que luego metidos en bolsas eran sacados por un camión de la basura.
Sus pasillos son estrechos y con una humedad que cala los huesos desde el primer momento que bajas allí y te das cuenta que todo estaba acorazado para que los ruidos de las torturas en las minúsculas celdas que en algunas de ellas solamente podías estar de pie o sentado, no se escucharan en la parte de arriba del edificio ni en la calle.
Cuando ves aquello te das cuenta que el nazismo carecía de la condición mínima de humanidad y que las letras escritas en las paredes son un legado que nunca nadie podrá olvidar ni reparar a todas aquellas personas que luchaban por la libertad.
Ojalá en España algún día podamos tener estos museos de la memoria para por fin de una vez por todas cerrar tantas heridas sin cicatrizar.

MEMORY AGAINST FORGOTTEN.
Less than 500 meters from the impressive cathedral of Cologne, there is a building made today a museum of memory so that never again can be repeated so much cruelty perpetrated by the human being to annihilate those who were not like them without any apex of humanity .
During the Second World War the building in question was the headquarters of the Gestapo in the center of Cologne and was called Eldehaus. The basement of the building became a jail and torture room for all those arrested men and women who were transferred there and many of them knew that they would only leave the place when they were executed as reflected in the graffiti on the walls that still Preserved and that the prisoners used them so that no one would forget their history and what they had to go through.
Thousands of people were murdered and tortured in this barracks. Most of those who were taken to their basement were communists or gypsies. Only between 1944 and 1945 were more than 400 people killed in the inner courtyard of the building and then Bags were taken out by a truck from the trash.
Its corridors are narrow and with a moisture that clogs the bones from the first moment you go down there and you realize that everything was armored so that the noises of torture in the tiny cells that in some of them could only be standing or sitting , Will not be heard on the top of the building or on the street.
When you see that you realize that Nazism lacked the minimum condition of humanity and that the letters written on the walls are a legacy that no one can ever forget or repair to all those people who fought for freedom.
Hopefully in Spain one day we can have these museums of memory to finally, once and for all, close so many unhealed wounds.
